Finding the Right Place to Live in Orange County

When it comes to deciding where to live, the choices are many and varied. Many people are relocating for work or other reasons, so consider the commute and city amenities. Young professionals may want to live close to hip restaurants and nightclubs. Others may want a suburban setting but still want easy access to major cities. Ultimately, your decision will depend on your lifestyle and your job’s location. Here are some tips for finding the perfect place to live in Orange County.

Laguna Niguel

If you love to explore the outdoors and enjoy beautiful views, Laguna Niguel is the perfect place to live. The area’s hilly terrain means that streets don’t follow the typical grid pattern. The city also borders the Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. With so many great attractions and things to do in Laguna Niguel, it’s no wonder it is so popular with locals. Whether you’re looking for a quiet community, or a vibrant city full of amenities, Laguna Niguel is sure to please you.

Yorba Linda

While the city has a history of being a prosperous and cosmopolitan city, Yorba Linda has not always been so prosperous. It has had some unfortunate moments, most notably when the city was hit by a major earthquake in 1989. Fortunately, the city is now making a comeback with the completion of a new Town Center. It will boast high-end entertainment and retail, as well as a common area where residents can hang out.

Villa Park

The City of Villa Park in Orange County has a comprehensive recycling program that includes curbside pickup at every residence. Residents put many recyclable materials into a large container provided by the trash hauler and set it out on the curb for collection. This recycling program has helped the city reduce its waste to landfills by 25 percent. Fortunately, Villa Park has no landfills. There are no trash facilities in the City, which means that residents can recycle more without having to travel to a disposal facility.

Anaheim

Anaheim is a large city outside of Los Angeles that is home to the Disneyland Resort. This complex is chock full of family-friendly attractions and hotels. In addition to the resort, Anaheim is home to two pro sports teams, the Los Angeles Angels and Anaheim Ducks. If you’re looking for a way to spend the day with your family, Anaheim is an ideal destination. Here, you can play hockey in the Honda Center or catch a baseball game at Angel Stadium.

Dana Point Harbor

The development of Dana Point Harbor began in the early 1930s. The Dana Point Syndicate, a group of wealthy Orange County men, invited other wealthy citizens to invest in the development of the town. They purchased 1,388 acres of land, including the Headlands. They promised tree-lined streets, sidewalks, and electricity. Later, they built 35 houses and several commercial buildings on the site. They also envisioned a resort hotel, but soon gave up the idea.

Irvine

In the city of Irvine, California, there are many things to do, from a visit to the Orange County Great Park to hiking and biking trails in Bommer Canyon. Visitors can also ride a giant helium balloon for aerial views. The Pretend City Children’s Museum offers kid-size versions of real-life settings like a post office and cafe. The Irvine Museum is another must-see attraction, showcasing Impressionist paintings.
